If you also turn Bluetooth off after listening to wired music then you can probably hit the 40-hour mark quite easily depending on how loud your music was being played. I’m not entirely sure what the rating for talk time is but if I had to guess I think it’s around 3-5 hours so they are pretty decent for phone use as well even though the button layout makes them best suited for music playing.
There are warnings in place to let you know when you have about 10 minutes of playtime left which is displayed through small LED lights placed towards the bottom of the right earcup.
Sound quality and performance
Let’s get this out of the way, if you listen to music through these headphones while having ANC turned on (non-wireless mode) then yes, it will make your music sound different. I’m not even writing this review in the wired mode because I’ve gotten used to taking advantage of Bluetooth for all my listening needs but the fact remains that noise-canceling does affect sound quality by changing how frequencies are reproduced.
This is the case with pretty much all active noise-canceling headphones so don’t let it stop you from considering these since they are great sounding regardless of which playback method you use them for. When using them wirelessly or without external interference then they sound excellent.
There is still some “hiss” there but it’s pretty much non-existent when compared to other ANC-powered headphones I’ve used in the past. When using it on my daily commute on the subway, I found that it was able to cancel out a good amount of the sound and make for a more pleasant experience.
